General Information:
Tourist Drive 3 was the shortest tourist drive in the ACT and it's main attractions include Australian War Memorial, Mount Pleasant Lookout, Duntroon Military College, Anzac Parade, Mount Ainslie Lookout, and the Australian-American Memorial.
Much of the route was of a high standard, including Fairbairn Avenue, which was updated in the last couple of years of TD3 being active. Pavement configurations included divided carriageways (2 & 4 lanes) and also single carriageway roadway.
Anzac Parade is named in honour of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. 1 Fairbairn Avenue is named after James Valentine Fairbairn, who was killed in air crash at Canberra when he was the Minister for Air and Civil Aviation, 1940. 2 Treloar Crescent is named after John Linton Treloar (OBE), who served in 1st AIF at Gallipoli on 1st Divisional Headquarters, at France on Australian Corps Headquarters, and as Officer-in-Charge, Australian War Records Section; served in 2nd AIF as OC, Military History Section; Director, Australian War Memorial. 3

- Alternative National Route 23, for 300 m, between Majura Pkwy and Majura Rd, Pialligo.
- Tourist Drive 1, for 2 km between London Cct, Civic and Kings Av, Russell.

- September 1918: Walter Burley Griffin's plan of Canberra, shows Limestone Avenue marked as Canberra Avenue. 4
- 25 August 1943: Gazettal of the name Limestone Avenue. 5
- 24 May 1956: Gazettal of the name Treloar Crescent. 3
- 21 July 1960: Gazettal of the name Anzac Parade. 1
- 1964: Construction of Anzac Parade. 6
- 8 February 1968: Gazettal of the name Fairbairn Avenue. 2
- 12 November 2002: Construction commences on the roundabout at the junction of Anzac Parade, Limestone Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue. 7
- 17 April 2003: Completion of the construction of the roundabout at the junction of Anzac Parade, Limestone Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue. 7
