General Information:

Tourist Drive 3 was the shortest tourist drive in the ACT and it's main attractions include Australian War Memorial, Mount Pleasant Lookout, Duntroon Military College, Anzac Parade, Mount Ainslie Lookout, and the Australian-American Memorial.

Much of the route was of a high standard, including Fairbairn Avenue, which was updated in the last couple of years of TD3 being active. Pavement configurations included divided carriageways (2 & 4 lanes) and also single carriageway roadway.

Anzac Parade is named in honour of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. ¹ Fairbairn Avenue is named after James Valentine Fairbairn, who was killed in air crash at Canberra when he was the Minister for Air and Civil Aviation, 1940. ² Treloar Crescent is named after John Linton Treloar (OBE), who served in 1st AIF at Gallipoli on 1st Divisional Headquarters, at France on Australian Corps Headquarters, and as Officer-in-Charge, Australian War Records Section; served in 2nd AIF as OC, Military History Section; Director, Australian War Memorial. ³

Tourist Drive 1, for 2 km between London Cct, Civic and Kings Av, Russell.
