General Information:
Forming part of a larger network of arterial roads, Limestone Avenue is located northeast of Canberra's Civic central business district. The route is divided its entire length and mostly consists of 2 lanes in each direction, passing through residential and commercial areas.
History:
- September 1918: Walter Burley Griffin's plan of Canberra, shows Limestone Avenue marked as Canberra Avenue. 1
- 25 August 1943: Gazettal of the name Limestone Avenue. 2
- 12 November 2002: Construction commences on the roundabout at the junction of Anzac Parade, Limestone Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue. 3
- 17 April 2003: Completion of the construction commences on the roundabout at the junction of Anzac Parade, Limestone Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue. 3
