General Information:
State Route 128 varies from multi-lane divided and undivided arterial road to rural 2-lane single carriageway and was once an important route linking the Newcastle CBD with Kurri Kurri and Cessnock.
George Booth Drive was named after George Booth who held the seat of Kurri for NSW Parliament between 1927-1960. 2

History:
- 9 October 2000: Cardiff to Glendale Upgrade opened by MP for Wallsend John Mills. 3
- December 2002: Replacement of the Blue Gum Creek Bridge at Seahampton on George Booth Drive was completed. 4
- July 2003: Replacement of two bridges over Surveyors Creek west of Cardiff. 4
