General Information:
State Route 17 was located in Sydney's inner south region and linked the the southeastern suburbs with the Princes Highway, which was one of Sydney's earliest principal arterial routes.
Servicing industrial, residential and commercial zones, the route consisted of both divided and undivided roadway, spanning 4 to 6 lanes wide.
History:
- 1937: Construction of the bridge that carries Ricketty St over Alexandria Canal at St Peters. 1
- Oct 1969: Construction of bridge over Southern Cross Drive at Rosebery. 1
- 1986: Roundabout constructed at the Kingsford Nine Ways. 2
