General Information:
State Route 63 was a short-lived circuitous route in Sydney's western suburbs. The route acted as a link between the Blacktown and Mount Druitt town centres and surrounding suburbs to the Western Motorway.
Servicing residential, commercial, industrial and semi-rural areas, the route was a mix of divided and undivided road varying from single lane in each direction to 2 lanes in each direction.
Multiplexes along the route include:
- State Route 61, for 3 km, between Oakhurst and Rooty Hill.
History:
- 1970s: Rooty Hill Road and Blacktown Road widening. Carlisle Avenue railway overpass opened to traffic.
- 1980s: Bungarribee Road duplication and Carlisle Avenue extension to Roper Road.
- May 1992: The opening of the missing link in the Western Motorway between Mays Hill and Blacktown. This includes the Prospect Highway interchange.
