General Information:

Located in Perth's northern suburbs, State Route 85 links the satellite city of Joondalup with the Tonkin Highway. The route is a mix of single and dual carriageway, servicing residential, commercial and rural properties.

The section that once carried the SR86 designation is the SR85 route east of the Wanneroo Road intersection. This change occurred when Joondalup Drive was extended eastward to connect with Neaves Road. Previously, SR86 followed a route via Pinjar Road, including what are now Mornington Drive and Greenvale Place in Banksia Grove. This portion was bypassed as part of the Joondalup Drive extension, and SR86 between Banksia Grove and Bullsbrook was replaced by SR85. ¹

2019: The section of State Route 85 between Tonkin Highway and Great Northern Highway decommissioned. ²
