South Plympton is an inner suburb of Adelaide, named after neighbouring Plympton. It's bordered by the Glenelg tram line to the north, Marion Road to the west, and Wood Street to the south, with a more complex eastern boundary taking in Towers Terrace and Winifred Avenue.

Originally made up of smaller localities named Forbes, Harcourt Gardens and Vermont, the area was officially combined into South Plympton in 1947. The South Plympton Post Office opened shortly after, on 5 January 1948.
